What I built.
- 01
In one week, turned a generic admin template into a working product for commercial beekeepers.
- 02
A dashboard showing how many hives are OK, need inspection or are critical for health, activity and queen presence, and how that has changed since the previous period.
- 03
A Hives table with sorting, filtering and plain-word statuses, and a detail view with each hive’s latest readings and history.
- 04
A Loads page with secure renaming, so only the business that owns a load can change it.
- 05
Fixed the broken build and moved deployment to AWS as a Docker container.
- 06
Later found and removed malicious code hidden in a project config file, which would have run on every build.
- 01
Next.js 14 App Router API routes with NextAuth sessions, every query scoped to the caller’s organisation through Prisma.
- 02
A metrics endpoint comparing the selected range with a previous period of equal length, giving each device its dominant state by majority vote so one noisy reading can’t flip a hive.
- 03
A hive detail endpoint that shapes the sensor data (battery mV to V, sentinel values to N/A) and validates its inputs.
- 04
Hives and Loads tables rebuilt on TanStack Table v8, with a shared filter component and typed interfaces.
- 05
Replaced GitLab CI with an AWS CodeBuild buildspec that builds the Docker image and pushes it to Amazon ECR.
- 06
Identified and removed an obfuscated eval(atob(…)) supply-chain loader hidden after hundreds of spaces in postcss.config.js.
