Privacy policy.

This site belongs to Hiren Bhikadiya. I am the controller of the personal data described here, which means I decide how it is used.

This policy covers hirenbhikadiya.com and anything you send me through it: emails, call bookings and messages.

It does not cover the sites this one links to, such as LinkedIn, Upwork, Toptal, GitHub, Calendly or the products in my case studies. Each has its own privacy policy.

If you get in touch by email, by booking a call, or on LinkedIn, Upwork or Toptal, I receive what you choose to share: usually your name, email address and the details of your company or project.

Like any website, the server that delivers these pages receives technical details with each request, such as your IP address, browser and the page asked for, in order to send you that page.

Unless you turn analytics off, Google Analytics 4 also collects your device and browser type, approximate location, the pages you visit, how you arrived and how you use the site. It never receives your name or email address.

To reply to you, arrange calls and discuss work, because I have a legitimate interest in answering the people who contact me.

To see which pages are useful and improve the site, because I have a legitimate interest in knowing how it is used. Analytics is on by default; you can turn it off at any time by declining in the cookie banner or in Cookie Settings.

I don’t use your data for advertising.

I don’t sell your personal data or share it with anyone for their marketing.

It is handled for me by the services I use to run this site and my work: Google (analytics and email), Calendly for call bookings, and the company that hosts this site.

Beyond that, I would only share it if the law required me to, or to protect my legal rights.

I work from India, so I read and handle your messages there. Google and Calendly may store data in countries outside the UK and the European Economic Area, under the safeguards their privacy policies describe.

I take reasonable steps to protect your data, though no transfer over the internet is completely secure.

Messages: only as long as needed to reply to you and discuss work. Ask, and I will delete them sooner.

Analytics: Google Analytics keeps it for up to 14 months, then deletes it automatically.

You can ask me to show you the personal data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how I use it, or send it to you in a portable format. To object to analytics, turn it off in Cookie Settings.

Email me to make a request. It is free, and I will reply within one month (up to two months more for complex requests). I may ask you to confirm your identity first.

If you have a complaint about how I have kept to this privacy policy, please contact me in the first instance.

I will look into it and try to resolve any complaint or dispute about how your personal data is used or shared, in line with this policy.

This site is for businesses hiring an engineer and is not aimed at children. I don’t knowingly collect data from children. If you think a child has contacted me, tell me and I will delete it.

When this policy changes, the “last updated” date on this page changes with it. If a change affects how your data is used, I will say so here.
